Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach that we use at Discovery Elementary School to address school safety and climate, promote and teach positive behavior, and acknowledge students for their accomplishments.
We teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors at school by incorporating our school-wide behavior expectations into everything we do.
Students are able to earn Rocket Tickets for demonstrating Discovery's behavioral expectations in the classroom and throughout campus, such as on the playground and during assemblies.
Students can redeem their Tickets for prizes in the Rocket Store.
Stay tuned for information on how students will be able to earn and redeem Rocket Tickets virtually!
Check In - Check Out is used to support student behavior expectations. A report is filled out daily by the teachers and checked at the end of the day by their selected Check Out person. Students pick up their report from their teacher at the beginning of the morning. They return their sheet to their teacher at the end of the day. Your child will be able to earn incentives and rewards for appropriate behavior.
