This program of study provides opportunities for students to develop skills that relate to individuals, families, communities and the environment. The fundamental content encompasses the objective of preparing individuals for employment in career pathways that relate to meeting human needs - personal care, consumer services, family and community services, and counseling and mental health; visual arts principles – creativity, artistry, vision; the art of teaching – planning, managing, and providing education and training services and related learning support services; personal care – beauty, style, and culture; hospitality and tourism – management, marketing, and operation of food services, lodging, attractions, recreation and travel related services; and, science technology – scientific research and technical services related to the nature of foods, the causes of deterioration, food processing principles, and the improvement of foods for consumption.
