WATCH A RECORDING OF 3...2...1...SECOND TO NONE!
This play was first written by The McCaskey Campus Children's Theatre Outreach Program in 2019 so that we could perform it in the spring of 2020....[INSERT RECORD SCRATCH SOUND EFFECT]...So, I want to thank the OG cast for all of their hard work and contributions to the script. They dreamed up this crazy idea of an alien teacher who has a portal in her classroom because they thought the set of a school would really connect all of the audience members - both young and...well...not as young.
Last year, we were able to return to the stage, but our audience was not. We loved 3...2...1... too much to try to rework it for a virtual audience. So, thank you to the cast of Rockin' Wizard Camp who kept children's theatre alive by performing for a bunch of cameras last year.
This year, our cast and crew were thrilled to finally be able to perform this show - and even more to have actual children back in the seats!
All we can say is...
We hope it was worth the wait!
This show would not have happened without the hard work of so many people. You've all worked from the shadows for far too long and deserve to be recognized...
Thank you to Dr. Rau for always supporting our productions and for coming to see our show. Congratulations on your retirement, and know that you will be missed! You have always believed in our students, and we're grateful.
Thanks to Dr. Justin Reese, Kelly White, and McCaskey's awesome administrative team for your support. You advocate for the needs of our students daily, and we appreciate you! None of this would happen without your support.
Thanks to Edwin Rosario and Amy Berger for all you did behind the scenes. Edwin, we're sorry for all of the emails, questions, and random requests. You came through on countless things, and without you, no one would have a NASA badge!
Thanks to our awesome production team: Daniela Ciceri is incredible and makes it all look so easy. The only thing better than her costumes is her all-around class. Michael Eby-Good spent so many hours designing our set and building it with Ms. K and their 8th period Stage Design class. What they can create is incredible. Thank you for all of your work on the set and the tech team. Angel Gonzalez does incredible things with sound and is so patient. Thank you for helping Brendan record the cast song and for your constant support. Thanks to Alex McMorrow and the cosmo team for designing the wigs and make-up. Thank you to Kelly Chery for being the best props coordinator, backstage manager, and all-around right-hand a director could ask for. It's a joy and a privilege to work alongside you! And, of course, thanks to Matt Watson for making these awesome kids shine with your timely light cues!
Carrie Pyfer also deserves all the thanks in the world. She is the other half of me at McCaskey and holds so much together in the MSC world during spring play season. Thank you for tolerating so many interruptions, so much craziness, and for making the best of it. You come through time & again & deserve so much recognition!
Thanks to Friedlund and his awesome Robotics students. They designed Delfini all on their own, and Gage became a part of our cast as Delfini's handler.
Thanks to "Aspen's mom," "Titus's dad," and "Rose's mom" as the kids all call you. You spoiled this cast and crew with delicious food and kept them going.
Thanks to the custodial staff for tolerating an auditorium filled with teenagers and for putting up with so many pizza boxes.
Thank you to all of their teachers, parents, guardians, friends, and family members who have tolerated late rehearsal hours and missed classes. I know your children have been sleep-deprived and stressed for far too long. Thank you for putting up with them and for driving them to and from so many rehearsals.
Thanks to the OG cast for all of your ideas that you contributed for this show. I wish you could have performed in it, but I hope that this cast made you proud. Thanks to the real Annabel & Samantha for all of your ideas about their aliens and their special powers! And, thanks to Jaiden, too, for sharing so many cool ideas too! If children's theatre isn't inspired by children, then we're doing it wrong. Thank you for your great ideas!
To Genesis, Alyse, and Janaya - thank you. Y'all stepped up BIG when we needed people the most. Thank you for being reliable and for the key roles you played. And to Lyra...you learned your role in ONE day and helped to bring No Reif to life for hundreds of little kids. Thank you for your willingness to step in.
And, of course, thanks to Uncle Brian and Uncle Luis for cutting up so many NASA badges!
To all of our family and friends, thank you for putting up with the long hours and the constant talk about aliens and NASA. We're coming back from Planet Zoe and are returning to Earth now that you've helped us save it!
