NO CELL PHONE ZONE

As we prepare for the new school year, we want to share why Lancaster School is becoming a phone-free school.

Our goal is simple: to create the best possible environment for students to learn, connect, and thrive. Research shows that reducing cell phone use during the school day leads to greater classroom engagement, stronger face-to-face relationships, and improved student well-being.

This year, students in grades 7–12 will use Yondr pouches to securely store their phones during the school day, while students in grades K–6 will place their phones, smart watches, and earbuds in a secure lock box in the main office until dismissal.

We are excited to see classrooms with fewer distractions, hallways filled with conversation, and students who are more engaged with their peers and learning. We also hope this change helps reduce the stress and pressures that often come with constant access to phones and social media.
