The Lamp Post Sensory School lights the way towards sensory-based, joyful learning because every child has a gift to share with their community.
Our school will utilize sensory integration theory and developmental methods to build foundational skills for learning. Our curriculums will be based on functional academics and our programs will be experiential in order to build life-long skills for empowered adulthood.
As the school grows, these requirements may change. Many things we can be flexible on, but may depend on the makeup of the class. For now, these are requirements:
Ages 9 to 11
Can toilet independently.
Can walk up and down stairs independently.
Does not need to know how to read or write.
Has some verbal skills.
Let us know more about your student. This will help us determine if Sensory School is a good fit, but we will also keep you in the loop on future sensory school developments and any future openings.
True knowing involves experiential learning. Experience only happens through the senses!
The academic goal is to be a healthy adult who has gained skills for working and living.
Our values are our guide. We want to do good work and learn joyfully so that we can inspire others to become. We want to both embrace and be embraced by our community.
Our team of teachers and therapists are trained in a sensory integrative approach to learning.
A natural and nourishing environment enhances learning and well-being. Care in creating interior spaces that are sensory friendly and adaptable to meeting sensory needs. Outdoor play and exploration space is vital.
We will begin as a business for profit to quickly get the school's business processes in place with the plan of transitioning to a Non-profit with 501C3 status.
