Richard Filby is an international circus and cabaret artist known for his magnetic stage presence, world-class juggling, and quick-witted audience connection. His performances mix technical precision with warmth and humour, creating shows that are both playful and deeply engaging.

Having performed across Europe, Asia, and Australia, and The Middle East, Richard brings a global sensibility to his work, blending circus skill, storytelling, and spontaneity. His style fits perfectly between contemporary circus and classic cabaret: intimate, interactive, and always full of heart.

When he’s not performing, Richard collaborates with artists and festivals around the world, developing acts, community events, and creative projects that celebrate human connection through skill and laughter.

Slick Tricks (And Dry Wit) is a fast-paced, character-driven circus cabaret show that mixes expert juggling, improvisation, and audience interaction. Richard’s charming and fearless style draws the crowd in as he balances, jokes, and juggles his way through the fine line between control and chaos. Designed for festivals, theatres, and outdoor stages, Slick Tricks offers both spectacle and soul — a reminder that even in the mess, there’s magic.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Equipment & Setup: Performer is self-sufficient and brings all necessary equipment unless the venue provides preferred sound, lighting, or staging options. Flexible and adaptable to all environments.
Performance area: Flat surface (minimum 5m x 5m) for best results. Very flexible in all environments.
Sound: One headset wireless microphone, PA connection for music (Bluetooth preferred)
Lighting: Basic warm wash with front light (for cabaret/indoor shows)
Power: Standard 240V socket
Notes: Can be performed indoors or outdoors. Self-contained option available for street and festival environments.
