Ranger’s Apprentice: The Burning Bridge, by John Flanagan, is a story about Will, who is chosen by Halt, a legendary ranger, to be his apprentice. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Will battles on the bridge. You will like this book if you are in 6-8th grade, like fiction and books set back in time. The book is set in a time with castles and and knights, and also rangers, who are very mysterious and and carry longbows with amazing accuracy. Will will go on many adventures as a ranger’s apprentice. The book has lots of action and keeps you reading into the next book. It illustrates with third person but shows most of the people’s thoughts.The author gives lots of information and keeps the suspense and action from many character’s viewpoints while stating many facts. The book is very interesting and keeps you reading until the next hook.
