From the Taylor Creek Handbook

Graded work will be sent home each Thursday. Please sign their contract each Thursday to indicate that you have received your student’s graded assignments.

Corrections  Corrections must be completed within 3 days of receiving an assignment with a score less than 70%. The grade recorded will be an average of the first grade and the redo grade with 70 being the highest grade that can be earned. For tests/projects, an alternate assessment will be provided which will determine if concepts have been mastered. The grade will be an average of the first grade and the redo grade with 70 being the highest grade that can be earned. NOTE: Common Assessments are not eligible for re-do.

In order to ensure grading reflects a student’s relative mastery of grade level TEKS, the ability to make corrections on daily work and tests/projects will be limited to 50% of the recorded grades (per subject) during a 9-week grading period.

Late Work  Late work will be allowed following these guidelines: the student will be given up to three days to complete any late work, late work grades are not subject to correction, and 10 points will be deducted from the final grade for each day the assignment is late.

Absent Work  Students have one day per day absent to complete and turn in assignments missed during an absence. Example: if absent 2 days, the student has 2 days to complete and turn in the assignments they missed while absent.

Progress Reports/Report Cards  Progress reports will be printed and sent home twice each nine weeks, the first after the first three weeks of the grading period and the second after the second three weeks of the grading period. Report cards will be printed and sent home at the end of each 9-week grading period.
