Mr. Leach
Welcome
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Lampasas Middle School. I am very excited to begin a great year of meaningful learning and exciting discoveries as we explore the rich history of the United Sates of America. Parents, students, and teachers working together and communicating effectively is the key to student success. Please feel free to contact me at leacha@lisdtx.org, or by phone at (512) 556-3101, ext. 6406. I will do my best to address your concerns in any way I can.
Knowledge of Social Studies will allow you to better understand the exotic and exciting places of the world, and the cultures of the interesting people who live there. You will also gain a greater understanding of our own culture and what it means to be American.
About Me
I was born and grew up in Northern California. I joined the US Army in 2014 and served three years as an M1 Abrams tank crewman. I met my wife Samantha while stationed at Fort Bliss, in El Paso. We were married in 2017, and moved to her hometown of Killeen, once I left the Army later that year. In April, 2023, we were blessed to add one more to our home with the birth of our son, and first child, Lincoln. I graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in history, and a minor in education. I began working at Lampasas Middle School in 2021, and am very excited to begin another exciting year at LMS ... GO BADGERS!!!
Grading
I grade assignments as they are completed. Usually I will have assignments graded and put into Skyward by the end of the day that assignment is completed. 60% of each student's grade will come from daily assignments that are completed in class. 40% of the student grade will come from tests and major projects.
Late Work Policy
Any work done during a given 9-week grading period can be turned in late for up to 90% credit as long as I receive it before the end of that 9-week grading period. Late work received after the 9-week grading period will only be accepted under special or extenuating circumstances as an official grade change request will be required to input the grade for that assignment.
Parent / Student Communication
In accordance with LISD policy, students' cell phones must remain put away at all times. If you need to get a message to your student, please contact the LMS front office at (512) 556-3101, and ask for a message to be sent to your student's classroom. If your student needs to get a message to you, I will dismiss the student from class, and allow him/her to go to the front office to use the office phone.

"All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined could not, by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track upon the Blue Ridge. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
Abraham Lincoln , 1838
