Hello There! My name is Jessica Martin. I am a graduate from Tarleton State University! I began my teaching career 23 years ago as a Kindergarten Teacher at Kline Whitis Elementary. After a few years of learning the ropes, I was ready to delve into the exciting challenges of working with students who have special needs. I knew early on in my educational career that I wanted to be a Special Education Teacher, and so the adventures began in a Class-within-a-class type of setting. From there I spent the next 3 years as the PPCD teacher at Taylor Creek Elementary. For the next 5 years I was one of the EPCD teachers at Hanna Springs Elementary. For the past 10 years I have had the pleasure of being a CAPS (Communication and Autism Programming Support) Teacher, and will continue to be so this year. In December 2022 I graduated with my Masters in Special Education with a concentration in Autism Intervention.
My husband, James, and I celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary this past June. We have two awesome children. Our son, Noah turned 26 this summer and has been working as a Diesel Mechanic. He and his fiancé welcomed their baby girl (my first grandchild) in February. Our daughter, Taylor is 24, is currently working as a Care Taker and is expecting a baby girl in November (our 2nd grandchild). We also have 1 dog, Juliet.
Some of my favorite things are: spending time with my family and friends, working on puzzles, reading, and anything chocolate.
