Welcome to Hanna Springs!

As a former Lampasas High School graduate, I feel privileged to be able to work for Lampasas ISD. This in my tenth year in L.I.S.D. and my ninth year at Hanna Springs as the Assistant Principal.
I am so proud that my children are being educated by the Lampasas school system. Kaitlyn (14) is a Freshman LHS and Braxton (11) is a 5th grader at Hanna.
My journey as an educator began when I graduated from Baylor University with my B.S. in Elementary Education in 2001. I began teaching while pursuing my M.S.E. in Guidance and Counseling at Baylor, which I completed in 2003. After four and a half years in the elementary classroom and another four and a half years as a K-12 counselor, I completed my Principal Certification. This is my eighteenth year in education and I absolutely love it!
Hanna Springs students and staff are like a big family that I am so excited to be part of. We have driven teachers, staff, students and parents who partner together to achieve success! ”Look with Kindness and You will Find Wonder” is our theme for this school year and I can’t wait to experience the WONDER that lies ahead.

Lindsay Duhon, Assistant Principal & Leslie Talamantes, Principal

I began my career in Education in 2003 as a High School Spanish teacher in Marble Falls, Texas. In 2008 I moved to teach kindergarten for Marble Falls and between 2011-2016 I also served as an intervention coordinator for at-risk students, a district coordinator for English Language Learners in grades PreK-12, and an Assistant Principal for a large PreK-5 campus. My two daughters are Kross (13) and Bliss (10), and I have the support of my husband Robert who has been a longtime law enforcement officer in the Highland Lakes area. The Talamantes family enjoys camping or any outdoor activity. I received my Bachelor's degree in Education from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX and earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University. My previous studies include an Associate's degree with a major in Spanish Language and Culture and a minor in Communications, earned from the Air Force Community College during my six years of active duty military service in 1997-2003.I am passionate about public education and setting a tone of academic excellence for our children. Every day brings a new opportunity and a reminder of the service, integrity and resilience that a school leader must exemplify in order to impact student achievement. My commitment to building positive relationships and leading by example will be evidenced daily, as will my Badger Pride.
