Mission Statement

The library is a vital hub within the Peoples Academy learning community. Its mission is to promote information and digital media literacy while providing all learners with an inviting, equitable, inclusive, and safe learning environment. The Peoples Academy Library partners with students, faculty, and staff to foster a love of reading and learning while providing reliable information, tools, and the support necessary to succeed today and to flourish as citizens and contributors to society.

Meet the Librarian

This is Mr. Noonan's third year as Peoples Academy's librarian, and it's his 21st year as a member of the school faculty. Before becoming a librarian, Mr. Noonan taught middle schoolers as an ELA and global citizenship teacher.

As a librarian, Mr. Noonan wants to do everything he can to get books in students' hands. He also works to teach digital citizenship and media literacy to 6th and 8th grade students and others who have questions. Mr. Noonan enjoys helping students find resources to use for their assignments or personal inquiry projects.

Schoology is PA's learning management system.

an online library that provides accessible e-books for individuals with reading barriers such as visual impairments, dyslexia, or physical disabilities, offering a wide range of titles in formats like audio, braille, and large print.

The ABLE Library is a free talking book and braille library service. We serve patrons who are blind and visually impaired. We also serve patrons who have a physical or reading disability that stops them from being able to read standard print. We are part of the Vermont Department of Libraries, and we serve the entire state of Vermont.
