Experience and Expertise
Mark has deep experience and almost three decades in credit investing. After graduating from college, he spent 5 years at Deloitte & Touche in New York, where he had varied responsibilities, including due diligence on corporate bond offering memorandums. While working at Deloitte and pursuing his MBA at night, he joined Goldman Sachs to work full time as a High Yield Research Analyst, subsisting through the dot com bubble and burst. Mark spent so much time at 85 Broad Street that his wife who used to fetch him at night and on weekends would refer to herself as a ‘Goldman Retriever’. Mark left New York for Greenwich, Connecticut in 2004 to join the asset management arm of the fast-growing reinsurance company Partner Re. There he was a Corporate Bond Portfolio Manager, Bond Trader, and Credit Research Analyst for 10 years surviving both the global financial crisis and the European debt crisis. He spent the next 10 years of his career as Lead Corporate Bond Portfolio Manager at GIC, the Sovereign Wealth Fund of the Government of Singapore, in New York City navigating the high yield and investment grade bond markets during the oil price collapse of 2015-2016, the stock market dive of 2018, the Covid pandemic in 2020, and the banking crisis of 2023. He earned a BS degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society. He received an MBA from The Stern School of Business at New York University, and also completed the CFA Investment Management Workshop at Harvard University.
