Concert Program

Lauren Vomund is in her 11th year of teaching and teaches 7th and 8th Grade Choir at Nixa Junior High School, where she also serves as one of the Vocal Directors for the Nixa Junior High and High School Theatre Departments. She graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2015, where she received a Bachelors of Music Education with Educational Honors. Prior to Nixa, she taught music and directed choirs at Ozark Middle School and Willard Middle School. Her choirs have been selected for performance at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference multiple times. She frequently serves as judge and clinician for various honor choir events across Missouri, and enjoys presenting interest sessions when she can. 

Outside of teaching, Lauren performs with the Springfield Chamber Chorus, Missouri Choral Artists, and Queen City Chorale. She also performs with the music ensembles of University Heights Church in Springfield, and serves as the K-5 Children’s Music director. Lauren also enjoys singing with the Springfield Shanty Choir alongside her husband, Shawn. Outside of music, they enjoy traveling home to Troy to see family, hiking with their dog, canoeing, and spending time with friends.
