Piazza Gae Aulenti

Chill in the heart of modern Milan: Piazza Gae Aulenti.

This landmark is named after Gae Aulenti, the late Italian architect, designer of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, and sits at the heart of the Porta Nuova Garibaldi area, which is adjacent to one of Milan’s main train stations.

Piazza Gae Aulenti offers a great view on the city and on the skyscrapers nearby, such as the Bosco Verticale and the UniCredit tower, the second tallest skyscraper in Italy. The square is often used as a location for photoshoots, musical videos and social events.

Around Piazza Gae Aulenti there are plenty of shops; during spring and summer, people tend to play and cool themselves in the fountains in the center of the square.
