Bosco Verticale

The project was named Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest) due to the fact that each tower houses 900 trees, 5,000 shrubs and 11,000 floral plants, which help mitigate smog and produce oxygen. The building itself is self-sufficient thanks to the use of renewable energy from solar panels and filtered waste water to sustain the building's plants life.

Having won the title of the most beautiful and innovative skyscraper in the world in 2015, Bosco Verticale is a complex of two luxurious residential buildings that are famous for the presence of more than two thousand tree species included among the shrubberies and tall trees on the balconies, creating the illusion that the buildings are wrapped in greenery.

They are part of an ambitious project for metropolitan reforestatio, which was developed in order to increment plant biodiversity, reduce urban expansion and contribute to microclimate mitigation.
