January
As part of ongoing efforts to improve access and engagement within the LMS library, I reorganized the graphic novel collection to support student browsing, selection, and independent reading. Titles were regrouped by genre and reading level, clearly labeled, and aligned with student interests and curriculum connections. This reorganization has made the collection more user-friendly, allowing students to locate materials more efficiently while encouraging exploration of new titles. Since the update, student interest in graphic novels has increased, supporting literacy development, visual comprehension, and a positive reading culture within the library.
February
Black History Month, observed each February, honors the achievements, resilience, and lasting contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It highlights the impact of leaders, innovators, artists, and activists who have shaped society while overcoming injustice. The month encourages reflection, learning, and a continued commitment to equity year-round. Below are resources to help guide instruction at LMS.
