Director of Harding and Garfield Middle School Choirs
Lisa Blasko received a Bachelor of Music from The University of Indianapolis and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Cleveland State University, where she also received Kodály training. It has been a pleasure to teach her entire career with the Lakewood City Schools. After school activities include the Garfield Music Crew and the Harding Singers Mixed and Treble choirs, as well as coordinating the drama club at Garfield. Active in the Ohio Music Education Association, past responsibilities include District 4 Middle School Honors Festival Chair and Choir Chair, District 4 Treasurer and OMEA State Board Representative. She is proud of the accomplishments of her choirs such as Superior Ratings at OMEA Large Group Contest and Solo & Ensemble, and winning the Stop the Hate: Youth Sing Out in 2018 and receiving second place in 2017.
Director of High School Choirs
Rayna Brooks is the Director of the Soprano/Alto Choir, Tenor/Bass Choir, Symphonic Treble Choir, Symphonic Mixed Choir, Chamber Choir, Vive L'Four, Fourtes, and serves as the advisor for the Tri-M Music Honor Society at Lakewood High School, where she has been a proud faculty member since 2017. She holds two Bachelor of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the Conservatory of Music at Baldwin Wallace University and is currently pursuing her Master of Music Education at Case Western Reserve University. In addition to her work at Lakewood, Ms. Brooks sings with Cleveland Chamber Choir in the alto section and serves as Chair of the Ohio Music Education Association's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access, and Anti-Racism (DEIA) Committee, where she is committed to promoting inclusivity and equity in music education across the state.
