The Mystery at Cedar Point
Part 1
After school one day, Mark and Riley (best of friends since they were five years old) wanted to plan a trip to an amusement park. It was a sunny afternoon in the town of Chesterville and they thought it was the perfect idea to invite their friend Billy. Their families had been planning vacations for the summer, and this year they decided to take Billy with them to Cedar Point. This seemed like the perfect trip to have the best time of their lives, but they did not know what to expect.
By the time they all got to Cedar Point, their hearts almost burst with excitement. Screams were heard from miles away and it seemed like the roller coasters were nearly touching the clouds, and they glistened in the July sunlight. Mark, Riley and Billy jumped out of the car sprinting towards the front doors, but when they got there Mark realized he forgot his backpack and sunglasses at home. After they were inside the gates, they ran to the biggest roller coaster in the park. The lines were long and Mark, RIley and Billy had to wait for hours until they got to the front of the line. Once they sat down in the seats of the little car Billy said jokingly but nervously, ¨I think I could throw up any minute.” Mark and Riley laughed slightly, but they were just as nervous. After being strapped in, the roller coaster train started moving slowly up the steep hill. They finally reached the peak of the hill and what they saw almost made them pass out, they could not believe their eyes.
Part 2
When they looked down from the roller coaster they saw a crowd of people running and screaming their way towards the exit of the amusement park. After all the people were gone, the amusement park was silent. The kids were stuck on the top of the roller coaster without a clue why everyone left the park. All the kids started screaming and crying for help. Out of nowhere the sky got dark and the roller coaster started shaking. Everyone looked down and saw a huge hairy black 100 foot tall spider with bright red eyes.
All six of the kids with them on that part of the roller coaster started screaming their heads off. When the spider was directly under the kids, the spider looked up at them. Riley, who is extremely scared of spiders, completely fainted. A woman started screaming saying she couldn't get the roller coaster to come down from the hill and that they needed to jump down. That would land them all right on the spider's back!
So the kids who weren't passed out unbuckled from their seats. Mark unbuckled Riley and a couple other students helped carry her. One by one they leaped down onto the spider. As they landed on the spider they bounced back as if the spider was a trampoline. After a couple scary bounces, they got their grip on the spider. They even managed to hold onto Riley, who started to wake up. They were one step closer to getting away...
Part 3
When the kids noticed what situation they were in, they were all extremely terrified. Mark was trying to ease the situation with breaking the longing silence. “Did anyone see that coming?” he replied, laughing silently to himself. No one replied as they were too focused on how high up they were looking down on Cedar Point.
At another attempt to break the silence Mark asked, ”Does anyone have gum?” Riley was shaking so much she could barely say, “No Mark, we have bigger problems then chewing gum.” Mark was upset with Riley’s attitude because he had a plan to get off of the spider. Billy handed Mark a piece of gum and was surprised that Mark didn’t start chewing the gum. Instead Mark pulled out a beaker with a purple liquid in it. He added the gum to the liquid and it erupted all over the spiders back. Then, something weird happened. Suddenly, the kids all looked up in confusion, they were closer to the ground…
