This begins my 13th year of teaching, and I can't believe how quickly they've all gone! I've been sort of a gypsy in a way over the course of my career, but have planted my feet firmly here at Lakeview. Currently, I am teach English 10, English 10 Honors, and the College Credit Plus class, Foundation of Education.
Professionally, I completed my Bachelor's degree at Mount Union (GO RAIDERS!) in English Literature and Secondary Education. I also have a Masters degree in Administrative Leadership from Youngstown State University (GO PENGUINS!), and truly enjoy the knowledge and experience I have gained from all of this thus far. Among these two degrees, I am a National Writing Project Institute graduate and am a proud supporter, advocate, and teacher of The National Writing Project. I am also a certified adjunct CCP professor with YSU for the Education department, and also part of their part-time faculty where I teach night classes for the Education department as well.
I am an avid Cleveland sports girl! My Sundays in the fall are spent watching the Browns (minus fall 2020, of course). I am so looking forward to it this fall! This is a bit of a point of contention in my house as my husband is a huge Steelers fan! My husband and I are also big baseball people and love heading to Cleveland for a game whenever we can. I'm originally from Northeast Ohio and am very close to my entire family, spending as much time as I can with them all. I am an aunt to three of the sweetest little girls around, but most of my spoiling is reserved for my sweet son, Gibson, who is 18 months old and the absolute light of my life!
This year is about hitting the reset button and coming as close to normal as we possibly can. What will never change is that I am here for each and every one of my students and am an ally to their success.
