HOW DOES A STUDENT SEE A COUNSELOR?
If a student would like to see a counselor, he/she should fill out THIS APPOINTMENT REQUEST FORM.
Students will be seen immediately whenever possible. If the counselors are not available, the counselor will meet with him/her ASAP.
HOW DOES A PARENT/GUARDIAN SEE A COUNSELOR?
Parents and guardians are welcome to meet with the counselors and are asked to make appointments in advance, to ensure that the counselor will be available. You may call or email your counselor to set-up a meeting!

WHAT DO SCHOOL COUNSELORS DO?
Lake's school counselors are excited to help serve the needs of their students in terms of the student's academic, college/career and social/emotional goals and future successes.
Things your school counselors do include:
scheduling
meeting with new students
review and make transcripts
complete credit checks for graduation
attend RTI (response to intervention) meetings
conduct testing including PSAT, ACT, EOC graduation tests
track all students testing points
conduct individual and group counseling
complete mental health assessments
coordinate with and track Penta students
conduct future planning meetings
send transcripts for current students
help with scholarships
assist students in CCP process
assist with graduation
help students interested in being students athletes
conduct career assessments
deliver lesson plans in the areas of academic, personal/social, and college career readiness
