Why have a banquet?
Although Young Life utilizes many volunteers, there are definite financial needs. Our budget provides salary, insurance, and training for our staff. In addition, funds are needed for our emerging and existing programs, as well as office and mailing expenses. We are excited to share the story and need with potential Young Life partners while celebrating God’s faithfulness in the area.
Who can come?
Everybody!! We want everybody who has been a part of YL in the past 50 years to join us! We also want to introduce new people to this ministry, so invite new people too! Invite adults who have a sincere concern for teens in our community and who are interested in supporting and knowing more about Young Life. This isn’t just a fundraising banquet, but also a chance to share the mission with someone who might like to be a volunteer leader or committee member and celebrate what God has been doing in our area.
How much does it cost?
There is no charge for your guests or you. However, we will present opportunities at the banquet for those who wish to financially support the area.
What should I wear?
The dress is business casual. Think khaki. Not too dressy.
When should I get there?
5:00pm Social Hour in the commons area of DLHS
5:30pm Hosts arrive to greet their guests
5:45pm Guest arrive to find their place
6:00pm Banquet begins in the Lake Shirts Field House
Why is the banquet this year not at Castaway?
We have already been close to max capacity for dinner at Castaway in recent banquets, and we anticipate this special 50th Celebration to be much larger. The Lake Shirt Field House provides the space needed.
Will there be any events at Castaway on that weekend?
YES! Friday night we are doing a story telling gathering and Sunday Morning we are doing a prayer and worship time. ALL at Castaway!
Is anyone able to come to Friday night or Sunday morning?
Absolutely! All are welcome to come! Anyone can come to all the events on the weekend,or just one of them! Whatever works in your schedules.
Do I need to RSVP for Friday Night or Sunday Morning?
We plan on serving dinner on Friday night and brunch on Sunday Morning, so we would love to hear if you plan on attending. Keep watching social media and the website for more information.
Can I stay at Castaway for the weekend?
Yes! Just email lakesareayounglife@gmail.com if you are interested in staying at Castaway. It is a first come-first served basis, so don’t wait!
