Employability Skills
The State-Certified Employability Skills Program recognizes a student’s mastery of employability skills valued by employers in a variety of worksite settings while helping students explore career interests.
The program requires:
Reinforcing professional workplace skills in personal work habits and attitudes
A minimum of 90 work hours accumulated over the course of a semester
Paid wages
Enrollment in a course aligned with workplace functions
Completion of assignments relating to career development assigned by the supervising teacher
Examples of how to implement locally:
Through placement at a community employer
Through paid work in a family business
