Attention student musicians: Are you interested in participating in a summer music camp or other music instruction enrichment program? The LUHS Music Boosters will be offering $500 scholarships to help you make it happen!
To apply, you must be a student in grades 8 through 12 in the Lakeland Union High School area who is currently participating in a school-sponsored band or choir program. Each scholarship will provide up to $500 for an organized music program such as a summer music camp. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, but may not be used for private music lessons, the purchase of instruments or supplies, or transportation costs.
Scholarships will be awarded to the student or parent/guardian upon proof of payment for the program, or may be paid directly to the music program to cover the cost of tuition or fees. In case the student withdraws from the program or there is a cancellation for any reason, the scholarship amount shall be returned to the LUHS music boosters.
What do you need to apply?
A parent or guardian's approval and digital signature to submit the application
Information on the summer camp/program you’d like to participate in: program name, location, dates, and cost
A 200-400 word essay describing your interest in music, why you’d like to attend the camp/program, and how it will benefit your music education
A recommendation from your school or private music teacher: Use this form ( LUHS-Music-Booster-teacher-recommendation.pdf) or ask them to write you a letter of recommendation.
