Get ready for March Madness - Lakeland style!
LPS Middle School will host a three-on-three basketball tournament on Friday, March 13th. 5th and 6th grade teams will compete that morning and 7th and 8th grade teams will compete that afternoon. Teams can be mixed with 5th and 6th graders playing together and 7th and 8th graders playing together. Concessions will also be available for purchase.
To participate in or attend the tournament, students must not receive a minor or major from Tuesday, February 17th through the tournament on March 13th. The tournament will be for students only as it will serve as our Quarter 3 student behavior reward.
How can my team sign up for the tournament?
On Monday, March 2, the MS Math department will host a Family Math Night from 5:30-6:30PM. This event will focus on sharing best practices and helpful tips for families as we approach state testing season. We want to ensure that all of our Lions are game day ready come late April.
Families who attend Math Night will have priority registration for the three-on-three tournament. At least one member from the team must attend Math Night to complete priority registration. Spots are limited and registration will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. If you and your team want to secure your spot, be sure to attend Math Night!
** Student eligibility is based on individual student conduct. If a student signs up for a team but receives a major or minor, the remaining team members will have a limited amount of time to secure a replacement. If a replacement player cannot be secured, the team will forfeit their spot. **
