I am TLE's ALP teacher. This is my third year teaching ALP at TLE, and I am truly excited about the opportunity to work with your child. In 1992, I earned my teaching degree from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. Before teaching at TLE, I gained valuable experience through substitute teaching in Oregon and Idaho before transitioning to full-time teaching. I am proud to say that this marks my 18th year in the Lakeland School District. My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a love for learning, encouraging curiosity, promoting critical thinking, and nurturing creativity and imagination. This year, the District’s focus for ALP is STEAM and project-based learning, where we will apply the Engineering Design Process in our activities. It’s important to note that ALP is not a gifted and talented program,  rather it aims to challenge students who are meeting grade-level standards and need an extension. I look forward to a productive and inspiring year working with your child.
