December is filled with learning more about designing with Tinkercad, coding robots, Breakout kits and making projects for Invent Idaho! What a wonderful month!
GATE students are learning more about design as they create in Tinkercad. They learned how to make holes, rotate projects, change sizes, cut projects in half, group and even how to make a hole in a project so they can light the ornament up. Please ask your student about all the awesome things they are learning!

Pigmy Owl
GATE/ALP students
Birds of Prey Northwest offers educational programs and author visits—including live raptors and/or Janie Veltkamp’s award-winning children’s book Beauty and the Beak and new childrens book Swoop and Soar-for all ages.
Raptors are fascinating birds: the silent night-hunting owls, the day-hunting hawks, the fish-eating ospreys, the fast-flying falcons, and the mighty eagles.
Falcons
Janie talks about how the environment affects raptors, and gives audiences insight into their life cycles and adaptations.
Peregrine Falcon is the fastest animal in the world
As predators of the night sky, owls are fascinating birds. No creature is built to hunt like the owl. Much mystery and curiosity surround this silent flier.
Great Horned Owl
