It is your child's responsibility to write their homework, in their planners, every school day as part of our morning routine. Planners are expected to be brought home and returned to school the next day. Your child's planner is also a good way to communicate, if you wanted to write a quick note for me to see the following day.
Homework will be assigned every night, Monday-Thursday. There may also be projects assigned that will require students to work over the weekend. Students are expected to turn in their homework assignments when they arrive at school, as part of our morning routine. In the event a student forgets to turn their homework in, or they forget it at home, they will be given ONE additional day to turn it in. After that, they will not receive credit. Homework is a reinforcement of the skills taught that day in class. It is used as extra practice, and it also gives me an additional opportunity to monitor student progress.
If you notice that your child is struggling with their homework, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Parent/Teacher communication is extremely important to ensure your child has a successful year and reaches their full potential.
