Lakehead University

Thunder Bay | Orillia

Join Lakehead University’s Teaching Commons and Libraries as they host the first ever Open Day on March 6, 2019. This full day event will introduce Lakehead’s faculty, staff, and students to Open culture and will “open up” the conversation about the potential of Open Education.

Our goal is to promote and educate the university community about the benefits of an open culture by providing engaging and informative sessions for learning about and discussing open educational resources (OER), sharing and showcasing the potential of OERs, and addressing any common misconceptions about them. The line-up of speakers include members from the teaching community, librarians, students, and representatives from eCampusOntario and Creative Commons.

Sessions are held at the Chancellor Paterson Library LI 5014C in Thunder Bay, University Avenue OA 3041 and Heritage Place 1001B in Orillia, and live streamed: https://lakeheadu.zoom.us/j/334133238

Refreshments will be served throughout the day. All are welcome! To register for sessions, click the registration link in the session descriptions below!
