No doubt about it, last year was tough, but when Eagles are faced with challenges, they just learn to soar even higher. We are entering the fall school year braver, wiser, stronger--TOGETHER. We may not be in a perfectly normal situation, but we are together again, ready to continue trailblazing on this unprecedented learning journey. As we work together for your future, it is important to remain dedicated to your goals and stretch for your very best achievement. We must look for opportunities and positives in every classroom situation. Let’s also maximize technology and our own innovation and creativity. Remember, you are pioneers who are are making history! Your accomplishments will help change the world of education and blaze trails for future students.
Homework
Homework is not about being harsh or demanding; it’s about growth and preparation. Homework is given to practice and reinforce skills learned in daily lessons, or to prepare for the next lesson. Homework assignments may be given three times per week and students are expected to complete them before class. Many assignments will be completed online.
1st Offense (First time student misses a homework assignment) - Parent Notice
2nd Offense - Parent Notice and action plan.
3rd Offense - Parent Notice and Instructional facilitator is notified (e-mail). The Instructional Facilitator will conduct a parent conference.
4th Offense - After (3) missed homework assignments - The student is referred to the Student Coordinator for disciplinary action on the administrative level.
Grading and testing
Successful students have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude and leverage their unique strengths to participate in class. Students will not succeed in our classes without participating and completing their assignments. Students must follow all directions to be given full credit.
Assessments: Students will be given ample notice about upcoming assessments. Assessments will be based on class lessons and Louisiana State Standards for student achievement.
