Library Policies

How long can we have the books? How many can we check out?

All students are able to enjoy LES library books for one week after they check it out. They can renew their books for another week if they need more time to enjoy it. Students can place up to 2 holds.

How many books you can check out depends on your grade level. Here is a helpful guide:

TK/K: 1 book

1st Grade: 1 book

2nd Grade: 2 books

3rd Grade: 3 books

4th Grade: 3 books

5th Grade: 3books

(Students checking out books for projects are allowed to check out all the books that are needed for their research project.)

Don't forget to return your books!

Remember to return your books on your scheduled library day. If you don't return your books for the week, you won't be able to check out new ones. You can also return at recess, during lunch time (with permission from yard duty), and after school. Just drop them in the library return slot at the circulation desk!
