Hello, my name is Aurora Cawley. I got my last name from my dad and my first name is one that my mom chose. My first name means “light”. My mother chose this because she says I am the light of her life. I personally like my name, but I usually get called Rory as a nickname.  My current hobbies consist of writing, reading, playing volleyball, and snowboarding. I have always loved reading and writing, and these things have always been a big part of my life. I mainly write poetry but have recently been thinking about writing some form of a short story. Reading has also always been one of my favorite things to do. I love to read to escape. I enjoy reading fantasy, horror, and romance. I have been playing volleyball since 6th grade. It is one of my favorite sports, and I really enjoy being on a team. Although I love volleyball, snowboarding is my favorite sport. I usually go with my big brother or dad. I have been snowboarding for 8 years now and I love it more and more everytime I go. My hobbies in 4th grade were mainly surrounding music. Up until the 7th grade I wanted to be a singer. Another hobbie i had in 4th grade was the flute in the beginning and then I moved to the trumpet. I also still liked to read and write. I wrote my own short story called “the magic egg”. 

Right now I am currently re-reading “If he had been with me” . I read it at the end of the school year last year and it was so good that I started re-reading it 2 days ago. Over the summer I read about 10 books. I listen to almost every kind of music. A few of my favorite artists are Noah Kahan, The Luminaries, Brenn!, Ashe, Lil Peep, Tate Mcrae, and Zach Bryan. 

After graduation I hope to feel secure. I hope to be comfortable in who I am. I hope to feel as if I am not rushed to figure everything out, I hope that I will know I will become something someday. I wish to be starting my first book and to go to OCC to become an English teacher.

This is the story of how I came to be who I am today, and how I ended up in Big Picture 

I hope to have a happy future, I hope to feel fufulled. In this section I will talk about how I can achieve those things.  

For my songs I chose "Sarah's place" by Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan, another song that I chose is "Come Over" by Noah Kahan. I chose "Sarah's place" because it talks about change, and it talks about drifting apart from one another, but still caring about each other.  This song has meaning for me because as I am getting older my childhood friends and I are outgrowing each other, but we still consider ourselves friends. 

I chose the song "Come Over" because it talks about being an outcast, and not really having many friends.  It talks about being strange and no one wanting to really hangout, or not being the first choice. a line from this song that sticks to me is "someday i'm Gonna be somebody people want". This means a lot to me because it's talking about people not realizing who you really are, and how one day  they will see how great you really are. 

For this portion of my who am I project, I chose to write about my heart surgery.
