On behalf of the Western Political Science Association, we are inviting nominations for the Don T. Nakanishi award, established by the WPSA in honor of one of the pioneers of the study of Asian American politics. The award is given for the best book on APA politics in the past year, and/or for outstanding service advancing the understanding or practice of Asian Pacific American politics. Call for papers for panel: "US-China rivalry and Its Impact on Asian Americans"
Siyu Liang, a PhD candidate at UCLA, and D.G. (Daegyeong) Kim, Postdoctoral Fellow for the Inequality in America Initiative at Harvard University (https://dg-kim.com/), are organizing a panel for APSA 2025 in Vancouver that highlights work on the impact of evolving US-China relations on people of Asian descent in the United States. Please reach out to Siyu and D.G. (dak110@ucsd.edu; sliang46@g.ucla.edu) if you have a research paper you would like to present and get feedback on as part of this panel next September. There are openings for three to four paper presenters, and Vivien Leung and D.G. Kim will be serving as discussants.
