The food bank only accepts donations of non-perishable food or financial donations. Consult the page below for more information.

DONATION DROP OFF

Special drop off hours for December (both financial and food donations)

FOOD

Food that is non-perishable and the best before date is still valid can be dropped off during office hours at the Lighthouse Church main office. The office occasionally closes early due to short staffing or special occasions; feel free to call for additional information.

Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm

For large quantity donations from companies or groups (ie: more than 3 bags or boxes) please contact the Food Bank directly on their line (604) 946-1967 to arrange someone to meet you at the site or where possible to arrange a pickup. [NB:  Not applicable during Christmas Season]

MONEY

Financial donations can be dropped off at the Lighthouse Church main office (see note above) in the form of cash and cheque. Cheques must be written payable to "South Delta Food Bank".

All giving to the food bank goes into a separate bank account but is governed by Lighthouse Church and accountable to the Canada Revenue Agency with respect to Non-Profit regulations.  Without jeopardizing the local operations the Board of directors reserve the right to redirect surplus revenue to other poverty relief agencies in South Delta or Food Banks in other parts of the province and up to 10% of surplus to a CIDA approved global project for poverty relief.


Giving on behalf of a business:

If you are donating on behalf of a business please add the name of the business in the memo field along with any other note. Use the name field for your name as the contact person.

STOCKS

We are currently not set up to receive donations of stocks.

GIFTS IN KIND

We do not generally receive gifts in kind for tax receiptable purposes but if you have something specific or substantial please call to inquire.

TAXABLE GIVING RECEIPTS

Giving receipts are issued under the CRA registered non-profit account of the Lighthouse Church PAOC and are issued from the main office of the church.  Current practice is to issue tax receipts and acknowledgment letters throughout the year.  Donations received toward the end of the year will be receipted within 60 days of the year end.  Please be sure to hang on to your official tax receipts for your tax filing.  For any questions with regards to a receipt you received, or didn't receive, please contact the main office at  (604) 946-4430
