CASH FOR A DISASTER
Don't forget to have cash, especially small denominations. In case that ATMs or electronic payment is disabled because of the emergency, you will benefit from having a stash of cash.
Think ahead of time how you will get in touch with your immediate family in case cell phone and internet are inoperable. Have a plan for where you will meet if you are not together when the evacuation is called?
Who outside the area will be your key contact for all members of your family to leave messages?
What do you need to do before evacuating? If for a fire, you may want to prepare the home, such as moving flammable outdoor furniture and garbage containers away from the house.
