1. Value Scale

   1. Keep adding layers to darken the squares.

   2. Remember to leave a space between squares so they don't bleed into each other.

2. Tape Resist

   1. Cut or tear tape, preferably masking tape, and stick it to your paper.

   2. Paint over the top and when the paint tea has dried completely remove the tape.

3. Oil Pastel Resist

   1. Draw shapes onto your paper with a light colored oil pastel (white or yellow) then paint over the top with slightly diluted watercolor. 

   2.  The oil will resit the paint.

4. Wet on wet (watercolor)

   1. Apply clean water to an area on your paper with a clean brush.

   2. Before it dries, load up your brush with watercolor paint and touch it to the water, the color will spread quickly.

1. 1. Paint a swatch 

   2. Sprinkle table salt on the swatch

   3. Let it dry completely

   4. Dust of the salt once it dries over the trash
