Are the Rams Back?

By Oscar Armijo

How the mighty have fallen! It wasn’t long ago when we saw the Los Angeles Rams take down the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, and the Cincinnati Bengals to take home the Lombardi Trophy, but now they’ve become a laughing stock: Teams don’t fear the Rams as they once did.

The 2021-2022 Los Angeles Rams with a record of 12-5, had the best receiver in the league, the best defensive end in the league, the best corner in the league, and a top 10 quarterback, which were vital to their championship run. Now, we see their corner, Jalen Ramsey, get traded for a bag of chips and a lollipop, a quarterback who is inconsistent, and a receiver who has the same amount of minutes played as me for the last several months. All this had led to a mediocre season. It’s hard watching your team week in and week out get abused by the opposing team, it’s like men among boys but not for the Rams.  For the first several Sundays, I didn’t even look forward to turning on the TV. In fact I choose to skip out on certain games to go play soccer with friends.

There is that one saying “failure is steps towards success' ' hopefully this will be the case for the Rams and with the week 4 win in a overtime thriller 29-23. With my guy Nocua - soon to be offensive rookie of the year - r getting 163 yards and the winning touchdown, things are starting to look up. Injured players such as Cooper Kupp are coming back, and the schedule isn’t looking the hardest with the only noticeable names being the Cowboys, Ravens, and our division rivals (and the team I hate the most): the 49ers, whom we never seem to beat (besides in the PLAYOFFS XDDD).

Maybe there is hope, and a push for the playoffs doesn't seem as unlikely as it once did. I can see it now: we end with a record of 10-7 and take down the Niners in the NFC Championship with Brock Purdy throwing an interception in the last drive. A choke job by the Niners in the playoffs is something they are familiar with. The Rams go on to face Patrick Mahomes and Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and will win the Lombardi once again. With that being said GO RAMS!! RAMS HOUSE!!
