Q: Can I attend only the Shinsa and/or Taikai without attending the seminar?

A: No, participation in the Taikai and Shinsa are only permitted to those registered for the seminar. There is no Shinsa-only or Taikai-only option.

Q: Can I participate in the seminar if I'm not affiliated with the IKYF?

A: If you are from a member country of the IKYF (Canada, USA, Mexico) you must be part of one of those country’s federations (KAC, AKR, Mexico). Only those from outside the IKYF member countries, i.e., South America or Central America, may apply without need of IKYF affiliation. 

Q: How do I pay the IKYF portion of the fees?

A: The IKYF portion of the fees is $231USD + applicable shinsa and ID fees. You will pay this to your country's organization/renmei, who will submit it to IKYF on your behalf. This is separate from the seminar fee payable to Vancouver. See the "Registration" section for more details.

Q: I'm not arriving until late Sunday evening and won't be in time for check-in. Will you accept Monday early morning check-ins?

A: We will have limited time to check-in on Monday morning but we will try to accommodate. Please email me and we can make arrangements.

Q: Are there any COVID-related restrictions at the seminar?

A: Not at the moment, but we must adhere to any restrictions set by the venue and local government at the time of the seminar. You are welcome to wear a mask if you choose. 

Q: The hotel booking link is showing there are no rooms available?

A: Please make sure you have selected the correct check-in and check-out dates! If issue persists, please contact Linda at linda.kong@kyudo.ca for assistance.

Q: Can I book my accommodation elsewhere other than Delta Hotels?

A: Yes. However, we do encourage you to book with Delta Hotels if possible, as it's walking distance to the seminar, and we have a number of rooms reserved there. You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the seminar. 

Q: Will the seminar include testing for Rokudan/Renshi?

A: No, the ANKR/IKYF has indicated that there will only be testing for Shodan to Godan.
