WORKSHOPS

1. Register: Please complete the [Private Classes Registration Link].
2. Consultation: I will review your responses and send a personalized plan via email or text.
3. Review Call: We will schedule a brief call to discuss the plan.
4. Booking: After our call, you will receive a link to select your preferred dates.
5. Payment: Once dates are selected, you will receive an invoice. You may pay in full or provide a deposit, with the remaining balance due on the first day of the workshop.

On the day of your workshop, I will come to you to begin our session!

Overview:

In our five-part sewing and upcycling workshop series, students are introduced to a variety of materials and sewing styles. Kymistry Designs Workshops offers more than a service; we offer a customized experience that meets you in your comfort zone.

Currently, all classes are private classes that take place in the privacy of your own home. This is subject to change.

You have the opportunity to rent a sewing machine for each of your sessions.

The sewing machine rental rate is $25.00 per session, and it is not included in the package; it will be added to your invoice.

We have fabric on hand; however, you may purchase fabric online at

1. Introduction to Hand-Sewing

Level: Beginner’s Age: 5 years -old- and up *No experience required

Hand-Sewing Classes: *No experience required

Students will complete the course knowing how to thread a needle, sew on laminated paper by hand, master basic hand-sewing techniques, and create simple hand-sewn projects.
Cut fabric and learn to finish a project with clean and neat stitches by hand.

Learn how to create a style profile that will include a collage exhibiting their style and instructions on how to take your measurements.

3. Basic Sewing:

Level: Beginner’s Age: 6 years old and up

*Experienced hand sewing is required. Or you must be registered to take the Kymistry Hand-Sewing Workshop Series before this session.

Sewing Machine Basics:

Students will learn how to use a sewing machine, sew basic projects, and develop fundamental sewing skills:

Hand-eye coordination: Improve your accuracy and sewing by applying lessons in hand-eye coordination.
Basic seams and stitches: Learn how to sew straight stitches and basic seams
Tools and materials: Get to know your sewing machine and fabric
Cutting and marking: Learn how to cut and mark fabric
Seams: Learn how to sew seams and finish them correctly
Buttonholes: Learn how to sew buttonholes, a key dressmaking skill
Buttons: Learn how to sew buttons, which can be useful in a fashion emergency
Patterns: Learn how to use sewing patterns
Fabric: Learn which fabrics to use and how to sew different types of fabric, like stretchy jersey

4. Sewing Your Very Own Wardrobe

Level: Intermediate Age: 7 years old and up *Experience Using a Sewing Machine or

2 hrs. per session

Intermediate sewing skills are required. Including sewing with more confidence, consistency, and speed than when you first started. You should also be comfortable taking on more challenging projects and understand and follow pattern markings and instructions.

Here are some other intermediate sewing skills:

Seams: You should be able to sew in-seam pockets and darts, and understand different seam finishes and when to use them.
Embellishments: You should be able to confidently add embellishments to garments, such as decorative linings, elastic waistbands, patches, or decorated pockets
Pattern-hacking: You should be confident at pattern-hacking to turn patterns into your vision for a garment. You will know well how pattern pieces work together, even if you need instructions for a specific step.
Project Options: Construction of a top, a wrap skirt, an empire waist dress, a triangle bag, and more.

5. Upcycle My Closet

Level: Intermediate Age: 7 years old and up
