Kentucky College Coaches are AmeriCorps members that assist high school students with selecting, applying to, and being accepted to a college or career of their choice. This involves hosting school-wide activities and mentoring core students from each grade level (9th-12th grade). These priority students will be students who: 1) will likely get through high school, but who are unlikely to go to college; 2) would be first-generation college attendees; and/or 3) are from low-income families.
Duration: August 1, 2021 – May 31, 2022 (10 months)
Living Allowance/Pay: $1,310 per month (depending on start date for term of service) in living allowance, less FICA and other applicable taxes
Benefits: AmeriCorps healthcare and childcare eligibility, education award of $4,441.50 upon fulfillment of contract, federal student loan forbearance eligibility, and professional development
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, excellent communication and organizational skills, and mentoring experience
