This is a lesson I made about Main Idea as it pertains to the children's Book Charlotte's Web. It made use of multiple learning styles under Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence. The differentiation within this lesson make it a good example of my understanding of learning differences for INTASC Standard 2.
A topic that has fascinated me ever since discussing the various learning disabilities and struggles described with IEPs, is Dyscalculia. In the same logic that Dyslexia is students being bad (dys) at reading (lexia), Dyscalculia is students beng bad (dys) at doing math (calculia). I could discuss it at length here, but instead I wrote this research essay about the topic, highlighting psychologist Anneke Schreuder and her work on it, in addition to Dyscalculia in general. This is by definitiion a learning diference, and fits well with this standard.
