UPGRADE Version Issues

While importing an 8.0 organisation into 8.2.4, the import wizard ran well and I was able to map users and the organisation began to import until it hit the process of "Update Users...". This is where I hit the following issue continuously.

On investigating the log files, you will find an error along the following lines:

Microsoft.Crm.Metadata.AttributeMetadataNotFoundException: 'SystemUser' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'azureactivedirectoryobjectid'

Resolution

As the name indicates, due to some schema changes between the versions, the organisation import always fails. In order to make it successful, install Dynamics 365 8.2.2 December 2016 update first. Then you can further upgrade to a higher version.
