The ‘Kindness Cove’ is Kunyung’s student wellbeing centre, situated in what was the STEM end of the Ketherba (‘together’) Building. It is a safe space where we expect and encourage kindness to occur. The Kindness Cove is a place where students can play indoor games together during lunchtimes, which is especially important for kids who sometimes find ‘outside’ to be a bit too much. It also replaces the Reflection Room - we now have an area in the Kindness Cove where students are guided to reflect on less desirable choices they have made. Finally, the Kindness Cove is a place where staff and students might have wellbeing related chats, meet with small groups for discussions or to learn about social skills. Monkey Minds and other external wellbeing related activities also use this space to work with our students.
