Work Study

The Work Study Program provides an ideal opportunity for seniors to complete their high school curriculum while earning a meaningful income and gaining valuable work experience. Jobs are obtained by the students themselves with the aid of the instructor, and the wages conform to the New York State Law. Students can earn up to 2 credits for this course.


The coursework will cover job/career searching skills, resumes and cover letters, interview techniques, employer/employee relations, decision making, employment laws (minimum wage, work hour restrictions for minors, employee rights, withholding taxes and other reductions), business organizations (small businesses, franchises, large corporations), sexual harassment and bullying, Workers Compensation, disability benefits, OSHA, post-secondary education, and personal financial literacy including checking, savings, budget, investments, credit, and insurance.
