1942 – Founded as Kaohsiung Provincial Industrial School with four departments.
1944 – Relocated to the current campus; expanded to seven departments.
1945 – Taiwan’s retrocession; postwar administration established.
1946 – Merged with a provincial commercial–industrial school; renamed Taiwan Provincial Kaohsiung Industrial Vocational School.
1953–1958 – Designated a model vocational school; multiple departments added and restructured.
1959 – Renamed Taiwan Provincial Kaohsiung Senior Industrial Vocational School.
1967–1968 – Skills Training Center and automobile driving training program established.
1972 – Administrative separation from Kaohsiung Institute of Technology.
1979 – Renamed Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Senior Industrial Vocational School following municipal reorganization.
1982–1992 – Major campus expansion with completion of three practical training buildings.
1989 – Designated as a Technical Teaching Center by the Ministry of Education.
1999–2000 – Strengthened higher education partnerships; departments streamlined; Technical Education Building opened.
2001 – Received top ratings in Ministry of Education school evaluations.
2004–2006 – Introduced comprehensive high school program and industry–academia cooperation initiatives.
2007 – New principal appointed, continuing institutional traditions.
2009–2013 – Library, information resource facilities, and school history museum completed.
2011 – Automotive and Chemical Engineering Building completed with Green Building certification.
2014–2016 – Expanded industry–education cooperation and completed major seismic retrofitting.
2017 – Achieved highest evaluation rating in Kaohsiung City senior secondary school assessment.
2018 – Recognized as a Ministry of Education High-Quality Senior Secondary School.
2019 – Hosted national industrial skills competition; new sports facilities opened.
2021 – Established Southern Taiwan’s first Automation Technology Training Center in partnership with Siemens.
2023 – New principal appointed following leadership transition.
