About Us
What is a P&C?
A P&C committee is an integral component to all school communities. We are a bunch of parents who care deeply about our children and others in their school. We are proud, proactive parents who like to be involved and know what’s going on within their school. At our meetings some like to just listen, others share their opinions or speak up with questions or requests, or take advantage of opportunities to volunteer. Without you; the parent, volunteer, helper, interested individual, the P&C would not exist. Your contribution is a vital and necessary addition to the whole school community! As a bonus, research consistently shows that parental involvement in a child’s education and school environment results in more positive outcomes for the child.

Be a part of the P&C
Everyone can be a part of the P&C! If you are a parent, caregiver, relative, guardian, or friend of a child at the school, or a citizen within the community, then you are automatically part of the P&C.
Why would I give up my time and energy doing something for the School?
Well the best answer we can give is, with participation and the information you receive you are better situated to assist your children. All parents can find out what is going on by reading the Newsletters sent home, but you can find out more from listening to the reports and discussions had at P&C meetings.
Being involved gives you the opportunity to ask questions, offer suggestions and be fully informed. Being involved can give you a say in what money is spent on, what events are being held and why. And to realise that not all events are about making money, but about building our school community - which is considered just as important, if not more so!
BUT, one of the BIGGEST reasons is how PROUD our children are of us. They love seeing their parents being involved in the school they love. It also makes them PROUD of their school and because we are making an effort they feel they should. We are also showing them and others that CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY is a great value that helps to build a stronger, friendlier environment to live, work and play.
I’m afraid of being forced into volunteering!
It’s called voluntary for a reason! We LOVE volunteers, but no one is forced to participate. Many great events happen when we have help, but you will not be forced or coerced into anything. You are welcome to do as little or as much as you like. Whether it be just listening in on meetings, turning a sausage at BBQs, or helping out on fete day, both the school and the children just appreciate the effort you put in by caring enough to show up.
Do you need to ask something in particular or just wondering?
Feel free to contact us via contact@ksspandc.org. We are always happy to assist and if we don't have the answer we will help you find one.
