National Mathematics Day is celebrated annually in India on December 22nd to honor the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. The day highlights the importance of mathematics in various fields and encourages students to develop an interest in the subject. It was first observed in 2012, following the declaration by the Government of India. National Mathematics Day aims to inspire innovation, promote mathematical research, and celebrate the contributions of Ramanujan, whose work in number theory continues to influence modern mathematics.
On this occasion, Kerala School of Mathematics is organizing a one-day seminar on "Mathematics and Its Applications" on December 27, 2024. Bachelor's and Master's degree students are eligible to participate.
