Kshamtalaya is a value driven social impact organization. A strong emphasis on self-driven learning, purposeful & meaningful work, and a constant emphasis on reflective practices for decision making are some of the aspects of the organizational culture. Few of the core values are trust, empathy, compassion, transparency, freedom with responsibility and collaboration. There is a deliberate intention to create safe spaces to experiment, innovate and embrace failure. The space cultivates non-judgmental attitude and an environment of radical candor built on the foundations of love. Kshamtalaya’s values and actions are human centered and aims to helping individuals connect themselves to the larger goal and purpose. People are encouraged to move both horizontally and vertically to build a diverse experience, learn from peers. Team members are encouraged to share new ideas, take on new projects and build skills while on the project. This creates a culture of ownership and self-accountability.
Trust
At Kshamtalaya, we believe that to trust is to have confidence in the fairness and reliability of a person and a team. Trust is also a value that defines our interdependence in relationships, personal or professional. Trusting someone is a choice we make towards them when we are inspired that they have either earned our confidence or are by some other means worthy of it.
Empathy
Part of being empathic is listening – really listening. At Kshamtalaya, people take time to have conversations with team members, share our work experiences and life outside the office. This helps us understand how each one is feeling and allows us to better understand situations. We are learning to communicate empathically, through expressing respect and kindness. We are constantly working towards helping create an empathetic workplace culture where connection, trust and compassion prevail!
Compassion
We believe that, when we have compassion, it’s natural to be curious about what leads people to do what they do and it’s easier to be transparent about what we’re thinking. That’s because of the questions that are asked and the points of view that are shared, stem from an interest in learning rather than simply judging.
Transparency
Kshamtalaya practices a work culture where team members rigorously communicate with peers and exchange ideas and thoughts, which gradually builds up trust and pride. It is also about involving everyone in the organisation in making decisions and accepting responsibility for how the organisation functions, making sure, everyone has the knowledge, information and education to properly read and interpret data, and helping to understand that everyone has a stake in the outcomes that are produced.
Freedom with Responsibility
At Kshamtalaya, we believe that there should be freedom to choose a format towards attaining one's commitment but also being responsible towards completing it. There must be freedom to take decisions but also taking responsibility to make up for the same. This enables people to being their authentic selves and at the same time accepting others as well. It also involves freedom to do things at one's pace but also being cognizant of shared goals and responsibilities. We are constantly enabling freedom to share any thoughts with anyone, but with sensitivity.
Collaboration
Collaboration is the foundation of most work we do. We encourage working in teams and inter-team collaboration. The areas we work brings its own set of challenges and the only way to solve problem at scale is to work together.
Excellence
In the organisation, we believe that being proactive and not waiting for instructions involves research and planning, asking "why" periodically, consistency, being evidence & data driven, and to have an eye for detail. This in the longer run promotes excellence.
