This is our online art studio for Southview Elementary. Our school studio is a place where students get the opportunity to explore, experiment, and express themselves using a variety of art media. I am a firm believer that art should come from the hearts of our littles. We practice like artists using Studio Habits of Mind. Laughing, learning, and growing in a collaborative studio where all abilities are valued!
Here in our virtual studio you will find some amazing artworks by Southview students. Students and parents- this can be a resource of art ideas you can explore at home and stay updated on what is happening in our school studio.
Who runs this amazing studio? That's me, one lucky gal named Danielle Thurston, a.k.a Mrs. Thurston. I've had the privilege of teaching our bulldogs art for the last 8 years. Besides being an art teacher I am also a mom, wife, sister, and daughter. I have 2 sons who currently attend Missouri State University. My husband and I have lived in Smithville for the last 20 years. I love pool time, traveling, hiking, biking, and playing board games. Of course I love a great art project- whether it is refinishing parts of our house, landscaping, or decorative projects, weaving, or trying new painting techniques whatever it is I love to keep my hands and mind busy!
