The most rewarding sport I have participated in at Brearley is Softball. When I first tried out for softball in freshman year I was super nervous and thought I wasn’t going to make the team. After seeing how tryouts was I realized that I was going to have a lot of fun because everyone got along really well and it just made me super happy.

My favorite relaxing activity is laying in my bed and watching Netflix. Laying in my bed gives me peace while I am all snuggled up in my blankets watching some of my favorite shows like, The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl. Watching netflix gives me alone time with myself to just relax and take a break from my busy schedule.

The most rewarding club I have participated in at Brearley is the National Honors Society. It goes to show how hard I work for my grades throughout all my years of high school. This looks good on college applications, along with cheerleading, too. Cheerleading is rewarding because it isn’t just cheering for the football players on the sideline, they do more than you think. Normally, if we weren’t in a pandemic, they would organize the whole pep rally, locker decorations, and every school spirit thing behind the scenes.

My favorite relaxing activity is probably staying home and watching sports. I’m usually sitting on the floor while I’m doing this, and I’m stretching out my back or just stretching in general for cheer. It’s relaxing to me because if I’m having a stressful day, I can just relax and stretch, and distract myself by watching a sports game.

The most rewarding activity I have participated in is by far football. The sense of winning with the friends you’ve had since kindergarten is a feeling so special. Not only is football just a sport it builds character for the future. It gives me the mental toughness to finish something with pride. Being a part of football is something that I am grateful for and I will never forget.

The most rewarding thing I’ve ever participated in at Brearley is football. It’s a lot of fun and we make a lot of memories and keep in shape. It’s had its ups and downs but I’d say it’s definitely been the most rewarding thing I’ve done

The most rewarding activities/clubs I participate in at Brearley is stage crew and GSA. The reason I say two clubs is because I feel rewarded in different ways with each of these activities. Stage crew for our plays and musicals allow me to show my appreciation for theater in a way that I feel comfortable and passionate about. I love being able to build sets from scratch and give actors the scene and props they need to put on a good show. I also am very interested in cinematography, and although a play isn’t quite the same, I feel that it has similarities that make stage crew so appealing to me. The GSA gives me a sense of responsibility and lets me be open about topics that are important in my life, my identity, and helping others.

Taking baths has been something recently that is very relaxing for me. Every night, after I have taken a shower, I fill the tub up with water and bubbles. I do a lot of thinking in the shower but when I take that bath, I don’t think about anything. Baths also have helped me if I'm in pain. Whether it is a stomach ache or teeth pain, I take a bath to feel a sense of comfort. I feel a sense of warmth and safeness with warm water. Then I just sit in it till my fingers turn like little raisins.

My favorite relaxing activity is listening to music. It helps me keep my mind off of what is happening around me, with school and just with life in general. I listen to James Arthur, Billie Eillish, and select songs by Luke Combs.

The Football program at David Brearley is definitely most rewarding not just because of the game itself but the relationships and experience u get on and off the field.
Class of 2021
My favorite relaxing activity would probably be cheer practice. I feel like it just takes my mind off everything and makes me focus on one thing for a few hours. Also cheer is like my life, I love it so much so when I'm there I give it my all and don't think about anything else. I find it relaxing because it's the only thing on my mind when I'm there, that's where my head is.

My favorite relaxing activity is yoga and meditation. While doing yoga, I feel my body at ease as I complete the stretches. Yoga relaxes my body and mediating relaxes my mind. When I do yoga, I can choose whether to think about anything or nothing at all. Since, I am under a lot of stress because it is my junior year at high school, I want to make it a habit to do yoga and meditate for at least 10 minutes a day. I feel like these techniques will really cleanse my body from negative emotions like stress.

My favorite relaxing activity is meditation. Meditation helps me destress and also helps me get motivated to be productive. When I meditate my problems fade away for a short period of time and I am able to focus on myself and my needs in that current moment.

During my first year of high school, I joined winter track and field which turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made throughout my high school career because it helped me get out of my comfort zone. It’s something I never would’ve thought of doing but in the end, it was a good decision. Not only did I get to meet new people and interact with them but I also realized I enjoyed running a lot.
